The stunning coastal path is also on your doorstep with magnificent walks to the harbour town of Porthleven in the East and over Praa Sands to Prussia Cove and on to St Michael’s Mount in the West. Hendra Wheal Barn is perfect for exploring the whole of West Cornwall, being equidistant between the stunning Lizard peninsular and the rugged Lands End coastline; within 15 minutes of Penzance, Helston, St Ives and Hayle. Slightly further afield are the larger towns of Truro and Falmouth, or visit the Scilly Isles accessed from Penzance by ferry or Lands End Airport by plane. Internally the barn has been sympathetically converted retaining much of its character, whilst achieving a contemporary and high quality finish. Externally the barn benefits from a small terraced area with garden table and benches and sea views; perfect for soaking up the evening sun with a glass of rosé! There is off-street parking for two cars.

Located in Mount's Bay between Helston and Penzance Praa Sands is a coastal village in Cornwall, England, which is popular with surfers and tourists. It is not far from St Hilary, Sithney, and Poerthleven and is one of over 250 towns or villages in Cornwall in which Go2 has cottages or holidays lets available. The nearest cities are Truro and Plymouth.
Praa Sands (pronounced 'pray', not 'prar'...), in common with many places in Cornwall, used to serve the local mining industry, but now finds most of its income from tourism. It has a wide sandy beach, with shallow waters and there are a number of shops nearby. Pengersick Castle is known as being a 'haunted' castle (in fact it is claimed to be one of the most haunted in Britain) and as such holds a number of ghost related events and activities.
Praa Sands is also famed as being the location at which the Sunderland plane landed during the Second World War after a battle involving eight German plans in the Bay of Biscay. The pilot managed to guide the damaged plane 800 miles back from the battle and land it on the beach, where he and the crew were found by locals who gave them medical assistance. The event has been commemorated by the opening of a memorial on the green at Praa Sands in June 2013.
