Appledore is a small fishing village at the mouth of the river Torridge in North Devon and is a popular holiday destination. It's quay runs alongside the estuary which heads out to the open sea, and along the quayside fresh caught fish can be bought directly from the local fishermen. Above the quay the quaint village is comprised of many narrow lanes and cottages. Appledore has become a focal point for local artists, many of whose works may be purchased from the numerous art and craft shops in the village.
