About Sheringham, Norfolk Sheringham is a seaside town in the north of Norfolk, not far from the popular resort of Cromer. It has a wide variety of shops and a popular market. Transport facilities are good, with mainline rail access, and attractions include a preserved steam railway. You can search a variety of cottages and holiday lets on Go2 both in Sheringham and in nearby towns. 'Sheringham has much to offer. The town has a main high street with a range of shops and restuarants, which leads to the promenade and beach. From the seafront, walkers can enjoy good coastal routes along scenic cliff tops. The town also has a small theatre, and some small amusement arcades - but only a couple and is in no way like other brash seaside resorts. Indeed, the impression I have had on my visits is that the town appeals more to retired visitors ! Nearby to the town is the attractive Sheringham Park, owned by the National Trust. Another highlight is the preserved railway which terminates at the small town on Holt - a journey lasting around 30 minutes. Often, steam trains operate on this line. There is also a second railway station, the mainline route where you can travel to nearby Cromer, and beyond - to Wroxham and then onto Norwich. All in all, a good base to stay and explore the north Norfolk coastal area.
