Belturbet is a town in County Cavan, Ireland. It is situated on the River Erne, and in fact has one of the best crossings over the river. It is near to Ballyconnell and is one of several towns and villages in County Cavan in which Go2 has cottages or holidays lets available.

County Cavan is a county in the north of Ireland on the border of Northern Ireland, in the province of Ulster. It is named after the town of Cavan.

Cavan is a scenic county with many lakes and hills and a more mountainous north western region (which is more sparesely populated). Known as the 'Lakeland County' Cavan has an almost staggering 365 lakes in its midst and a number of forests. The highest point, Cuilcagh (665m), is located within the Breifne mountains. Many of the rivers of Ireland, including the Shannon, the Erne and the Boyne, find their source within Cavan, flowing outwards towards the sea in various directions.
