Guests will enjoy watching the horses that are kept close by and often in the adjacent meadow. A foot/bridle path runs direct from the cottage driveway offering a chance to explore the surrounding countryside and see various wildlife along the way. Access to the local tramway which is ideal for cycling is close by. From the tramline you can access the sandy beach at Portreath or take the opposite direction to meet the coast at Devoran (cycle hire can be arranged with the owners). The sandy bays of Portreath and Porthtowan are approximately 2 miles away with village shops the local pub is approximately 1 mile and a Chinese restaurant can also be found within 1 mile. This north coastal area offers excellent surfing and attractions to suit all ages including The Cornish Cider Farm Newquay Zoo and Aquarium Flambards Theme Park and a short drive to the Lizard and Lands End peninsulas. The accommodation has been thoughtfully renovated and equipped to a good standard with TWO bedrooms: 1 double with TV/DVD en-suite shower room and WC 1 twin bedroom with TV/DVD en-suite shower over bath and WC. Lounge/kitchen/diner: open-plan including woodburner lounge with leather sofas TV Freeview and DVD. Kitchen with electric cooker microwave fridge/freezer dishwasher washing machine and a dining area for four people. Outside: choice of two patios enclosed with a low-level stone wall and a fenced lawn area. There is an external secure storage area for bikes and surf boards if required. Amenities: ample allocated parking directly outside the cottage. Bed linen towels wi-fi and first 10 of electric included central heating subject to a 20 weekly surcharge during November - March. Private water supply. 2 dogs welcome. Regret no smoking. Location: beach and shop 2 miles pub 1 mile.

Nestled in the valley between the hills of Carn Brea, Carnmenellis and Carnmarth, not far from Lanner and St Day, the Cornish town of Redruth has a strong tin-mining history, and in fact derives its name from the fact that the stream running along the bottom of Fore Street - now the main shopping area - was so discoloured with iron oxide from tinning activities that it ran red. Lying on the route of the old London to Lands End trunk road, now the A30, the area is now designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site, in recognition of its contribution in the history of the industry and landscape to mankind.
Visitors to the town will enjoy the Victorian architecture, restorations of miners’ cottages, the iconic clock tower, the three town trails, and the Treasure Park and Town Museum. The castle and monument at the nearby Carn Brea can be seen for miles and provides evidence of a Neolithic settlement dating from the 4th century BC, while the nearby Gwennap Pit is where John Wesley preached his sermons.
