Or'Eira

Description

The name Oreira means ‘From the Snow’ and is said to mark the snowline in winter. We are not so sure about that but what we do know is that the house stands in farm land and the road leads down to the Wnion valley which flows into the Mawddach estuary and out to the sea at Barmouth. Above the house, the road climbs steeply up to the foothills of Rhoebell Fawr.If you enjoy being in the peace of the Welsh Country side, away from the crowds, then you will enjoy Oreira The house is well proportioned and comfortable with full central heating. Downstairs there is a spacious well-fitted kitchen with stove, washing machine, fridge-freezer microwave and kitchen table. The sitting room is large with TV, comfortable seating and with a dining table which is great for family meals. The conservatory is roomy with views over the garden and towards the mountain of Cader Idris. Upstairs there are 4 bedrooms: two double and two twin. There are 3 bathrooms: 2 en suite and one family bathroom with bath and shower. Linen is supplied There are wonderful views from all of the windows. The garden is large and quiet which makes it ideal for relaxation and family games. Or’Eira is easy to reach as it is only about ½mile off the Bala road, 5 miles East of Dolgellau. There is something for everyone close-bye. If you want a beach, Barmouth, Harlech and Aberdovey are all within half an hour’s drive. To the east there is Bala Lake and Lake Vyrnwy. There are gardens at Port Merion, Bondnant and Brondanw. There are golf courses in Dolgellau and Bala and fishing on the lakes and rivers. There is easy access to Northern Snowdonia, including Snowdon, Betws-y-Coed and Carnarvon. Further, there is information on lots more attractions at Oreira. There are many walks close bye: easy strolls along country tracks, marked footpaths with spectacular views such as the Precipice Walk, and challenging climbs up the mountains of the area such as Cader Idris, the Arans and the Rhinogs. The cycling is great as you can use the county lanes and the centre at Coed-y-Brenin has everything from family trails to runs that will task the most experienced of mountain bikers. There is also the Mawdach trail (as walked by Julia Bradbury) which you can walk or cycle and follow the estuary which is one of the most beautiful anywhere, cross the bridge (as featured on ‘Coast’) and then enjoy fish and chips in Barmouth. If you delight in railways there is an abundance in the area including the Tal-y-llyn, the Ffestiniog and the Welsh Highland light railways. Also, the mainline track goes along the coast and affords the most spectacular views across Cardigan Bay Oreira has been in the family since 1953 and this makes it feel warm and friendly. Moreover, as we run it ourselves, we can keep prices low and still offer good accommodation. Hence, we can ensure that this well-appointed house is modestly priced at £550- £850 per week

Gwynedd takes its name from the old Kingdom of Gwynedd and is an area of north Wales which encompasses most of Snowdonia and the Lyyn Peninsula. Although one of the largest local government areas in the country it is also quite sparsely populated. A large number of welsh-speaking people live in the area, and it is home to the university city of Bangor as well as the famous 'royal' town of Caernarfon.
