Stretching from the banks of the Thames to the Vale Of Aylesbury, and within easy reach of London, this is the ideal place for a rural escape, as you’ll discover with one of our holiday cottages in Buckinghamshire.
The rolling Chiltern Hills and the beautiful Vale of Aylesbury make this one of the loveliest of the Home Counties, location for many of the scenes in TV’s Midsomer Murders. Visit the wonderful Stowe Park, one of the most ambitious of England’s great landscaped gardens, with its profusion of monuments, temples, grottoes, statues and ornamental lakes. Waddesdon Manor also makes a great day out from our holiday cottages in Buckinghamshire. Built in the style of a 16th Century French Chateau by the Rothschilds, it features some superb examples of French decorative art.
For a taste of the high life, take a trip to Cliveden, home of the Astors, while the museum at Bletchley Park gives a fascinating insight into World War II codebreakers and the enigma machine. Another fascinating place to visit here is the Roald Dahl Museum and Story Centre in Great Missenden – great for Dahl fans of all ages.
